Post Office Relocation?

How would you feel about the Post Office relocating?

Plans are afoot to move it to the Premier Newsagent which means a public consultation period is now underway in which you can have your say about the proposal. The full post-office-consultation info can be viewed by clicking the link and your comments are invited by the Post Office here.

As you can see from the information a full service a longer opening hours are promised as are the full range of services, which will presumably include banking, passport and car taxing services.

The proposed site is to be the Premier newsagents on Perth Road and will be under the management of a post master who runs 2 other such premises in Dundee.

There is only a 6 week consultation period and the clock is already ticking so please make your views known as soon as you can.

  1. shorter opening hours im afraid…currently 0700/2200 7 days a wont get that from the new site…its small shop, unsuitable for disabled access or buggy/prams, busy junction outside with insufficient parking even in side streets. proprietor underestimating footfall and queues at peak time, lack of knowledge of po brands to same level as existing staff (none of them have been offered jobs with the new po by the way) i need say more ?

  2. A very inconvenient location especially for elderly and disabled people. Poor parking. Near a busy junction/ bottleneck.
Current location very convenient in terms of parking and ease of access for elderly. I suspect it will not be good for the post office as many people who would have difficulty accessing the the proposed location will transfere their pensions etc to the bank.

  3. whats goin in the old peacocks shop ? that would be big enough and as i see it the newsagents is a very small shop

  4. Insufficient parking at the shop or in the immediate area.
