Flood Risk - Blairgowrie & Rattray

Letter from PKC to Residents

The attached letter has been sent to local residents from the PKC Flood Team where they think there is a risk of flooding and is asking residents to complete a questionnaire to let the team know if you have or have not seen surface water in your street. Here is the contents of the letter:

Flood Risk in Blairgowrie & Rattray

Perth & Kinross Council is keen to consult with local residents and businesses in Blairgowrie & Rattray regarding flooding due to surface water and the Rattray Burn.

In January 2023 the attached letter was issued to residents regarding the commencement of the project to develop the Blairgowrie & Rattray Surface Water Management Plan. It provided information on the study and offered an opportunity for residents to comment on any historical flood events that affected their property or local area. The Council is grateful for all of your responses.

At present our consulting engineers are working to finalise a model of the local watercourses and drainage systems. The results are indicating that surface water flooding could potentially affect your street and we were looking to confirm if you have (or haven’t) observed any surface water ponding within the local area?

I would be grateful if you could complete and return the attached questionnaire via email to flood@pkc.gov.uk before 9 June 2023. If you are unaware of surface water flooding ever having affected your area, then a nil return would also be appreciated.

Should you require any further information, please contact Russell Stewart, Engineer (Flooding) on RSStewart@pkc.gov.uk.

End of letter extract.
